There is something extra magnificent about this life and our God. The very thought about some of my past experiences made me think of the word ‘useful’. Have you ever considered how useful you can be? I have personally witnessed God use the least likely people to speak the most important information into my life. One of our challenges is that we expect our blessings to be only one way, when in reality you can be blessed in the most unexpected ways. Even if you read through the Bible, we see the power of God manifested through the least likely people possible. An example that comes to mind immediately is David, when the young lad that was a shepherd over his father’s sheep was called upon to destroy ‘Goliath the beast’. What about the amazing story that involved Moses, who had a speech impediment and was called upon to stand before Pharoah, demanding the release of God’s people. These circumstances were so unusual that even David was overlooked by his own father. Yet, they were useful. I’m learning more and more that God’s ways will never be ours, and I speak about it in my next book: God doesn’t function on our limitations. The limitations you possess are the limitations that you see. An infinite God can make anything possible. A woman in her nineties can birth a king, if God wants her to. Because for God, it is useful.
You ought to remind yourself today, ‘I’m useful’. Not only are you useful, but even the people you would least expect. God has a schedule and a way He does things. So if God needs a man that lacks confidence to carry out His mission to release His people, then so be it. Ultimately it reveals something to ourselves: We were never useless to begin with. I have had occasions where the least expected was my biggest blessing. Whether it be an action or simply words, it was delivered to fulfill God’s purpose in my life. We can no longer turn our noses up at someone because of their differences. It could be the very person God is using to catapult you to your next destination. Because to God, that person is useful. In return, you may not be overlooked for the next opportunity in your life because God reveals to that person that you are useful. Your biggest concern is seeking God for discernment. You don’t want to be the person that accepts everything from everyone, but God will reveal this to you. At the same time be keen to the information a person shares. They may easily be the vessel that God has used at the very moment you needed that information. They immediately became useful.
Grow in God, so you can be put to use for the good of God. Regardless of your situation, there is always use for what you possess. Whether you see it right now or not, you are blessed. Whether you can see it through your physical eye or not, that individual could be your blessing. You are undoubtedly useful in the kingdom of God. We just have to apply ourselves and be available for the next opportunity. Be useful.
